"Modulating the Tumor Immune Microenvironment in Head and Neck Cancer: Translating Bench Research to Clinical Trials"



Natalie Silver MD, MS, FACS, is Associate Staff at the Cleveland Clinic Head and Neck Institute and serves as the Director of Head and Neck Cancer Research. She is a Principal Investigator (PI) in the Center for Immunotherapy and Precision Immuno-Oncology at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner Research Institute and an Assistant Professor at Case Western Reserve University.

Dr. Silver is a head and neck ablative surgical oncologist and completed a research and clinical fellowship at UT MD Anderson Cancer Center. Dr. Silver’s translational research program at Cleveland Clinic is focused on developing therapeutic personalized mRNA nano-vaccines for head and neck cancer patients and exploring the role of intra-tumoral bacteria in immunotherapy response. Her goal is to translate discoveries from the lab to the clinic to improve patient outcomes. Dr. Silver’s research laboratory is funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), American Cancer Society and several foundation awards.
